To get started with silverlight a development environment is needed. This is how I did it:
- Create a new Virtual Machine. I know Orcas Beta 1 can run side by side with Visual Studio 2005 - but no commercial developer would ever jepardise their machine for beta software when there are such easy alternatives.
- Download and install Microsoft Visual Studio codename "Orcas" Beta 1
- Download and install Microsoft Silverlight 1.1 Alpha
- Download and install Microsoft Silverlight Tools Alpha for Visual Studio codename "Orcas" beta 1
- Download and install Expression Blend 2 May Preview
- Download and install Expression Media Encoder May Preview
- Download and install Expression Design
- Download and install Microsoft Silverlight 1.1 Alpha Software Development Kit (SDK)
- Download and install Microsoft ASP.NET Futures (May 2007)
- Download some quickstarts...
